FlagBill

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 12 July 2026

Privacy summary: FlagBill processes the minimum Xero bill information needed to provide its bill-flagging feature. That information is stored locally in the user's Chrome browser profile and is not sent to the developer or sold, shared, or used for advertising.

1. Who this policy applies to

This Privacy Policy applies to the FlagBill Chrome extension ("FlagBill", "the extension", "we", "us", or "our"). FlagBill is an independent browser extension and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Xero Limited.

2. What information the extension handles

When a user opens and uses Xero bill pages, FlagBill may read and process the following information that is already displayed or available on those pages:

The developer does not receive this information. The extension does not ask users to create a FlagBill account and, in this version, does not collect names, email addresses, passwords, payment-card information, or analytics data.

3. How the information is used

FlagBill uses the information only to provide its single purpose: allowing users to flag Xero bills for non-payment, display the flagged status inside Xero, and manage the user's saved flags from Xero or the extension popup.

FlagBill does not use the information for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, lending, marketing, or any unrelated purpose.

4. Local storage and retention

Flagged-bill records are stored locally in the user's browser profile using chrome.storage.local. They remain there until the user unflags a bill, clears saved flags, or uninstalls the extension.

Because the data is stored on the user's device, the user is responsible for protecting access to that device and browser profile.

5. Data sharing, sale, and transfers

FlagBill does not sell, rent, disclose, or transfer flagged-bill information to the developer, advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers, or other third parties.

This version of FlagBill has no backend service, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no remote code. It does not transmit stored flagged-bill records to an external server.

6. Permissions

FlagBill requests only the permissions needed for its stated purpose:

7. User choices and data deletion

Users can remove locally stored FlagBill data by:

The developer cannot view, export, restore, or delete data stored in a user's local browser profile because that data is not sent to the developer.

8. Security

FlagBill is designed to minimise data exposure by keeping flagged-bill information in local extension storage and not transmitting it to a developer-operated server. No method of electronic storage is completely risk-free, so users should keep their device, browser, and Xero account secure.

9. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

FlagBill's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information handled by the extension is used only to provide or improve the extension's disclosed, user-facing single purpose.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if FlagBill's functionality, data practices, permissions, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are made. Material changes to data practices will be disclosed before or when the relevant extension update is released.
